| SECONDARY SALES TRACKING |
 |
The packaged consumer goods industry is unable to track buying patters
at the retail level fast enough. Information, often inaccurate, follows
in sporadically thus finished goods inventories get inflated because of
slower consumption or returns from distributors. This system allows company
sales persons to update stocks and sales at the retail level (secondary
sales) to a central system from which reports can be extracted on-line
by operational managers to help them monitor consumer behaviour and thus
plan changes in production plans so that inventories are contained.
